I own a family farm in Chatham-Kent, and I have had listings in the Blenheim area myself. When I talk to buyers about Blenheim, I talk about the balance: a proper town with groceries and services, the lake down the road, and farmland all around.
Figures are live asking prices of homes for sale through my feed, not sale prices.

Blenheim is surrounded by some of the best farmland in the area, and the town still feels connected to it. Harvest traffic on the roads, the elevators on the edge of town and the farm businesses along the highway are all part of everyday life. That gives Blenheim a steady, grounded feel.
Head south and you reach Rondeau Bay, the village of Shrewsbury and the cottage community of Erieau on the Lake Erie shore. Head north and you are in Chatham in a short drive. A lot of people like Blenheim because it puts both within easy reach.
In town you find older brick homes on tree-lined streets, plenty of bungalows, and some newer homes on the edges. Many lots are a good size by city standards. Outside town, the Blenheim area has farmhouses on a few acres, rural lots with workshops, and working farmland.
If you are looking just outside town, the questions change: well or municipal water, septic system, how the land drains, and what the zoning allows. My farm and rural property page covers how I help with those, and the rural Chatham-Kent page talks about the countryside in general.
Young families like Blenheim for the small-town pace. Retirees like being close to the lake without living right on it. People who work in Chatham like the short drive. And buyers from bigger cities like that their money stretches further than it does at home.
If you are selling in Blenheim, that wide pool of buyers is good news, but each group looks for different things. I will help you show your home to the right people and price it against what is really for sale nearby. A home evaluation is the easy first step.
The search on this site will show you Blenheim listings that come through my feed, but not every local listing is in it. I keep an eye on the whole market, so send me a message with what you are after and I will let you know what is really out there, in town or out in the country.
It is a short drive. Rondeau Bay, Shrewsbury and Erieau are just south of town, which is a big part of Blenheim's appeal.
Yes, the Blenheim area is surrounded by farmland, and farmhouses and rural lots do come up. See farms and country properties in Chatham-Kent.
Many first-time buyers do well here, with older homes and bungalows that are easier on the budget than city equivalents. I always recommend a good inspection on older homes. See my buyer page.
