Ridgetown real estate

Main Street in Ridgetown still has its three-storey brick blocks with arched windows, the kind of downtown that small Ontario towns used to build to last. The shops and services along it cover most of what people need day to day, and the residential streets around it are quiet and walkable.

Ridgetown is farm country through and through. Many families here farm, work in agriculture or have family who do. That gives the town a down-to-earth feel that a lot of buyers are looking for when they leave a bigger city.

The older streets have brick and frame homes with porches and big yards, some going back a long way. There are post-war bungalows, a few newer homes, and the occasional small multi-unit building. Prices in a town like Ridgetown tend to be friendlier than in Chatham or London for a similar house, though it always depends on condition and lot.
